David F. Byers, Chief Executive Officer

David F. Byers, Chief Executive Officer of CARSTAR Auto Body Repair Experts, brings extensive franchise operations, finance, and marketing expertise to North Americas largest collision repair company. Byers joins CARSTAR with significant experience in multi-unit, retail franchise businesses. His executive background includes his role as Chief Operating Officer for H&R Block in Kansas city, where he worked from 1999-2007. In that role, he oversaw the company's retail tax network, including its 13,000 retail locations and 100,000 employees. Byers also served as Chief Executive Officer for the Mutual Fund Store, based in Overland Park, KS from 2007 to 2008.  Byers has also been Chief Commercial Officer for Sirva, a Chicago based global supplier of relocation and moving services operating under the Allied and North American Van Lines brands. Byers holds a bachelor of arts from Michigan State University, and attended  the Stanford University Graduate School of Business' Executive Education program in Finance. He resides in Leawood, KS with his wife and three children.

Brad Fountain, Chief Financial Officer

Brad Fountain joined the CARSTAR family in 2008 after a transition from JAMI, INC, a Kansas City based office manufacturer and served as their Chief Financial Officer.

Brad is a graduate from the University of Missouri, where he earned his BSBA in Accounting and is a certified CPA in the state of Missouri. Brad has spent his career working with a variety of distribution and manufacturing industries. He has extensive experience in leading and managing all aspects of accounting and financial organization, establishing collaborative management processes with operations, sales and marketing and demonstrated leadership roles in working with private equity stakeholders.

Brad Rein, Chief Information Officer
 

Brad A. Rein brings a broad background of senior executive leadership experience as Chief Information Officer for CARSTAR Franchise Systems.  He has proven expertise in building world-class, highly productive IT operations and technical solutions, and is skilled in spearheading ground up initiatives, and optimizing existing systems environments to create strategic and valuable enterprise processes.  His career engagements have included private equity startup ventures, and large domestic/international companies in the engineering, financial services, and medical device/healthcare IT domains. His engagements have been primarily focused in high growth, strong return businesses with key roles in Information Technology.

Mr. Rein has extensive experience in establishing vision and business strategy, building and managing IT project teams and initiatives, with depth and mastery of key technology areas.  His accomplishments demonstrate the ability to fuse technology expertise with strong business acumen, driving continuous innovation. He has expanded operational and product capabilities, boosting market position and supporting growth objectives through strategy development and tactical implementation. 

As part of his efforts to serve the community in volunteer capacities, Mr. Rein gives his time as an appointed patron member of the Technology Advisory Committee for the Blue Valley School District Board of Education.  He was recently re-appointed to a second two-year term on this committee.  Additionally, he serves as a member of the Board of Directors for Executive Service Corps of Greater Kansas City.  ESC offers management consulting to help Greater Kansas City nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organizations to better accomplish their missions by providing high quality, experienced resources.  
 

Mr. Rein earned his MBA with an Information Systems concentration from Baker University.

Dan Young, Senior Vice President - Insurance 

Dan Young is responsible for the management of the Corporate Insurance Department, where he oversees national and regional insurance program initiatives, claims management and data analysis. Prior to joining CARSTAR in 2003, he spent 20 years with Allstate in claims management and risk management. He received his CPCU in 2002, is a CIC member, served on the inaugural State Farm Advisory Counsel and currently participates in the Allstate Group Advisory Counsel. Mr. Young has a Bachelor’s Degree in Administration from the University of Nebraska.

Ernie Laky, Vice President Purchasing

Ernie Laky has been with CARSTAR since 1998, bringing 20 years of experience in negotiating, materials planning/procurement and product management. His responsibilities include negotiating agreements and managing vendor relationships with all of CARSTAR's national programs. Prior to joining CARSTAR, Mr. Laky worked with the Service Line Division of Standard Motor Products, Inc., an automotive aftermarket parts manufacturer.

Stacy Bartnik, Vice President - Field Services

Stacy Bartnik provides leadership to the CARSTAR Franchise System field service team - - regional service managers, store integration, and store financial services.   Her roles include developing and maintaining the field staff, tracking and reporting service results, and promoting the value proposition of the CARSTAR system, products and services through consulting and coaching. She also assists with other training and identifying further franchisee development opportunities.

Ms. Bartnik has worked in many segments of the collision industry, including Shop Estimator, General Manager, Insurance Adjuster, Trainer and Consultant. She is a recognized industry figure, often appearing at NACE as a speaker and presenter. She has been a speaker at WIN, contributing editor to ABRN, and was honored in 2004 by Akzo Nobel as one of the Most Influential Woman in the Collision Industry.

Ms. Bartnik is involved in several industry associations.  She was just elected President of the National Auto body Council and has held this position in the past.  She served as the Chair of the Collision Industry Conference in 2007 and 2008, is currently on the Board of Trustees for the I-CAR Education Foundation, and serves on the Collision Division Sub-committee of the Automotive Service Association.  Ms. Bartnik has also served as a judge for Skills USA.
 
 
Ryan Keller, Assistant Vice President Franchise Development

Mr. Keller has been Assistant Vice President – Franchise Development for CARSTAR since August 1, 2011.  Ryan came to CARSTAR with a history of twelve years, 1999-2011, with Driven Brands, Inc., in Charlotte, North Carolina. Ryan served as Senior Franchise Development Specialist for the mobile services division of Driven Brands, Inc., from January 2008 through July 2011, during which time he also served as Senior Franchise Development Specialist for MAACO conversions. He served as Franchise Development Specialist for co-development of Meineke Car Care and Econo Lube N’ Tune for Driven Brands, Inc., from October 2006 through December 2007, and as the Director of Franchise Development for Econo Lube N Tune, Inc., for seven years prior to that. From 2000 through 2006, he also owned and operated four Econo Lube N Tune locations.
